Each plan includes a set amount of storage. You can also configure your users to use a cloud storage backend that you own or purchase separately. Supported backends include Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob, other SFTP servers, and any S3-compatible service (Backblaze B2, Wasabi, IDrive E2, Cloudflare R2, and others). Keep in mind that each plan also includes other resource limits such as CPU and RAM, so subscribing to a "Tiny" plan with 1 TiB of your own storage will not match the performance of a "Standard" plan.

We will never deactivate your service if you occasionally exceed your storage or bandwidth limits. Instead, we will contact you to discuss upgrading to a different plan. In addition to storage and bandwidth limits, we also consider CPU and RAM limits. Our "Tiny" and "Small" plans are not suitable for installations with many simultaneous connections.

No, it is optional. SFTPGo supports standard SFTP/FTP clients, but also provides an intuitive WebClient that allows non-technical users to browse and manage their files directly from their browser.
Your dedicated installation is deployed automatically after purchase and is typically ready within 3 to 5 minutes. You will receive access credentials by email and can start configuring users and storage immediately.
Yes. SFTPGo includes a built-in export/import feature in the Maintenance section of WebAdmin. You can export your users, groups, folders, and configuration, then import them into any other SFTPGo installation.
HIPAA compliance is available starting with the Small plan and requires a US-based deployment. We enable HIPAA mode on your installation upon request and can sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA). This includes mandatory data-at-rest encryption, reduced idle timeouts, and long-term encrypted audit log retention. We work with a specialized HIPAA firm in the United States to ensure ongoing compliance.
Yes! We offer a 10-day free trial. The free trial comes with the features and limits of the plan you selected. Once your trial period has ended, unless you cancel your subscription, you will be automatically charged according to the plan you selected. You will not lose any data.
