What is the difference between Subscription and Lifetime licensing?

Subscription: Continuous access to all new releases, security updates, and support for as long as your subscription is active. Includes a 10-day free trial.

Lifetime (Perpetual): Use all versions released within 12 months of purchase, indefinitely. An optional annual maintenance service (€250 Starter / €600 Premium) extends access to new releases and support. Without renewal, your installation remains functional but without updates or support.

I’ve purchased a license. When will I receive my key?

You’ll receive an email with instructions to access your license key shortly after your payment is confirmed.

Do I get a license for test environments?

Yes. With the purchase of a production license, we provide an additional no-cost license for development, staging, or QA environments. It includes a limited number of concurrent transfers. No separate purchase is required.

What are plugins used for?

Plugins enable integrations including LDAP/Active Directory authentication, audit logging in the WebAdmin UI, event forwarding to messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Google Pub/Sub, AWS SNS/SQS, Azure Service Bus), Geo-IP filtering, and key management services (Vault, AWS KMS, Google Cloud KMS, Azure Key Vault). The Starter tier includes 2 plugins; Premium and Ultimate tiers support unlimited plugins.

Can I migrate from the open-source edition to Enterprise?

Yes. SFTPGo Enterprise uses the same configuration format as the open-source edition, so upgrading is a drop-in replacement — no data migration required. Simply install the Enterprise binary and add your license key.

Do you offer a free trial?

Yes, we offer a 10-day free trial for subscription-based licenses.

Can I switch to another license tier or request a custom license?

How can I update or cancel my subscription?

You can manage your subscriptions and billing details either through the billing portal, or by contacting our support team.

Are your prices inclusive of taxes such as VAT/GST?

The prices shown on this page do not include any applicable state and local sales tax or applicable withholdings. Those are the responsibility of the buyers. The location information you provide when making a purchase must be accurate for tax residency purposes. Additionally, if you have a tax identification number, such as a VAT number, please provide it for tax purposes — it will appear on your invoices.

Why do I see slight variations in prices?

Our base prices are in Euros. If your local currency is different, prices are converted at the current exchange rate and may vary slightly. However, once you activate a subscription, the price is locked and remains the same regardless of future exchange rate changes.
