Announcing Our Partnership with Collabora Online: Collaborative Editing Comes to SFTPGo!

We’re excited to share that SFTPGo now supports real-time collaborative document editing, thanks to our new partnership with Collabora Online, the powerful open-source office suite for the web.

Until now, SFTPGo has focused on secure file transfer, flexible storage backends, and powerful automation. With the integration of Collabora Online, we're taking a significant leap forward: you can now open, edit, and collaborate on documents directly from your browser without downloading them first.

Whether you're working with .docx, .xlsx, or .pptx files (or their open formats), you and your team can collaborate in real time avoiding conflicts or versioning issue using Collabora’s powerful LibreOffice-based editor.

Key Benefits:

• Real-Time Collaboration: Multiple users can edit the same document simultaneously, with each person seeing updates from others instantly.
• No Desktop Apps Needed: Everything works in your browser.
• Seamless Integration: Works with your existing SFTPGo setup.

The integration is simple. Once enabled, users can launch documents in Collabora Online directly from the SFTPGo WebClient interface. Changes are saved automatically, and standard SFTPGo auditing and logging continue to apply.

This makes SFTPGo a perfect fit for teams who need secure file exchange and collaborative document editing all in one streamlined workflow.

The Collabora Online integration is available as an add-on for all SFTPGo SaaS plans and is included for our Enterprise plan subscribers.

We’re working hard to make this feature more widely accessible: it will become available to all users once our Open Core edition reaches general availability.
